Position Overview

The Load Planner is accountable for driving operational efficiency, maximizing revenue per mile, and ensuring consistent on-time service through disciplined planning and execution. This role partners closely with the Operations team to own freight planning, driver utilization, system accuracy, and trailer asset management. Success in this position is measured by service reliability, data accuracy, driver productivity, reduction of empty miles, and revenue performance. This role requires strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to execute in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities

Freight & Driver Planning

•              Own the end-to-end planning of all assigned customer freight to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.

•              Validate driver Hours of Service (HOS) to ensure legal and executable load plans.

Scheduling, Accuracy & Operational Alignment

•              Work with the Operations team to take full ownership of load accuracy, including pickup times, delivery times, loaded miles, and empty miles.

•              Plan loads promptly based on real-time conditions, operational changes, driver availability, and HOS updates.

•              Prevent service failures caused by inaccurate planning, missed execution, or breakdowns in communication.

Customer & Internal Communication

•              Proactively communicate load status, service risks, and delays to Customer Service and Operations.

•              Ensure customer requirements, procedures, and contact information are accurate, current, and followed without exception.

•              Support customer retention by delivering consistent service and clear, solution-oriented communication.
